Nothing a woke, mid 30’s white woman loves more than a dystopian novel that mirrors current reality in the most unsettling way. This book was written in 1993 which makes it extra creepy. Besides the reliance on technology that is hilariously 90’s, the story takes place near present day (2023 to be exact) and hooked me immediately. It felt so real hearing about the future of America amidst climate change. I pray to all that is holy in Hollywood that no one turns this into a tv show. WE DONT NEED THIS FICTION NON FICTION REALITY OK. We already are living the Handmaid’s Tale.
