Mrs. March

This was our January 2022 Book Den read!

Doubting reality is something I am really good at. The Truman Show ruined me, y’all. Mrs. March is a wealthy woman living in Manhattan in the 1960’s who seemingly has no sense of self. You watch her mental health come crashing in and truly doubt every single thing you have read by the end of the book. She is incredibly unlikable so it is increasingly hard to feel sympathetic for her. And perhaps that is the point. Do we really need to feel sympathy for a person individually to recognize the need for help for entire generations of women, lost to themselves and their families. Also, those green gloves on the cover are 100 the green glove emoji and I refuse to accept anything else.

Do I recommend: Sure but let’s also go see the movie
